TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Alabama A&M fell behind in the first inning and couldn't make up the difference in an 16-8 loss to Florida A&M in the series finale at Moore-Kittles Field on Sunday.

Sparked by seven home runs in the contest, Florida A&M's 16 runs came on 17 hits, including 10 for extra bases.

The Rattlers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning with a pair of homers and an RBI single, before extending the lead to 7-0 with another two homers in the second.

Alabama A&M got on the scoreboard in the top of the third with a bases loaded walk, drawn by
Jared Tribett.
Jalen Parker drove in
Chandler Stocking for the second run with a sacrifice fly to center before the close of the frame.

Florida A&M carried its hot bats in the fourth and fifth, with three more bombs to take a 13-2 lead, before the Bulldogs began to claw back into the game.

Kenny Glover drove in both
Tommy Easley and
Chevalier Dorris in the seventh with a single to center field to cut the lead to 13-4, followed by a rally in the eighth that included an RBI single from Stocking, a score on a wild pitch, and another bases loaded walk, this time from Parker to make the score 13-8 before three final runs form Florida A&M before the end of the contest.

Stocking (2-for-5) and Easley (2-for-3) led the Bulldogs from the plate on the day, as the team earned eight total hits in the contest. Meanwhile, four pitchers made appearances on the mound, including
Noah Whitted (2-1),
Anthony Mateo,
Dimitri Stamataplous and
Gabe Nicholson. Mateo worked the longest (3.2 innings) and recorded four strikeouts in the loss.
