HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ^__ The Alabama A&M men's basketball team, who received the No. 5 seed, is set to begin the 2023 SWAC Tournament against the No. 4 seeded Southern in Bartow Arena on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m.
 
The contest is the last of the quarterfinal round and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Bulldogs are entering the tournament with a 14-17 overall mark and a 10-8 SWAC record, while the Jaguars are 15-16 overall and 11-7 in the conference.  
 
Alabama A&M swept the season series this year, defeating Southern 82-61 on February 4 in Huntsville before taking a 68-65 win on March 4 on the road to close the regular season. The two programs have
 
The winner of the Bulldogs and Jaguars matchup will move on to the semifinal game set for Friday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. against No. 8 Texas Southern who upset top seeded Alcorn State on Wednesday.
