BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University football program nabbed two Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Weekly honors as Monday as quarterback
Quincy Casey was selected the offensive player of the week and defensive end
Zareon Hayes was named defensive player of the week, the conference announced.

In addition to the SWAC weekly honor, Casey also took home the College Football Network HBCU Player of the Week honor.

Casey had a huge night in Alabama A&M's 31-24 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday night. The redshirt junior quarterback completed passes to 10 different receivers and threw for 328 yards, along with three touchdown passes, in the win. The Memphis, Tenn. native went 27-of-33 passing and connected on a 5-yard touchdown pass to
Barry White, breaking the 24-24 tie with just eight minutes remaining.

Hayes also recorded a big night for the Bulldogs, registered 12 total tackles, including four solo stops. He added four tackles for a loss of 22 yards and one quarterback hurry. The Dillon S.C. native posted 2.5 sacks, including one as time expired on strip sack, as AAMU picked up the conference win.

Alabama A&M continues its two-game homestand and steps out of conference play on Saturday against Tuskegee. Kickoff for the Bulldogs XXL Homecoming game is set for 2 p.m. from Louis Crews Stadium and will be streamed live on HBCU Go.
