Bulldogs Set for Road Trip to Nashville

THE HILL | For the first time this season, the Alabama A&M University men's basketball team will take to the road as the Bulldogs visit Tennessee State on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from the Gentry Center and streamed on ESPN+.

This will be the 30th meeting between the two programs, which began during the 1968-69 season. Tennessee State leads the all-time series, 23-6, as the Tigers won the first 16 meetings before Alabama A&M earned a 106-96 victory in 1983.

Last season's contest saw a thriller inside the AAMU Event Center as the Bulldogs edges the Tigers, 85-83, in overtime.

Alabama A&M (3-0) opened the season with three consecutive 100-point games for the first time in program history. The Bulldogs are averaging 109.0 points per game and shooting nearly 55 percent from the floor. Defensively, AAMU is limiting its opponents to 68.0 points per game and 36.2 percent from the field.

London Riley leads three Bulldog players in double figures, averaging 13.7 points, while shooting 59.1 percent. Chad Moodie is second at 12.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while AC Bryant is shooting 68.4 percent and averaging 11.7 points.

Tennessee State (1-3) is currently on a three-game losing streak after opening the season with a 96-66 victory over Fisk on Nov. 4.

The Tigers have four players averaging double figures, with Brandon Weston leading the way at 17.3 points and 7.3 boards. Justus Jackson (13.0 points), Aaron Nkrumah (12.3) and Ronald Jessamy (10.3 points) also are posting double figures.

Saturday's game marks the first of two straight road games for Alabama A&M as the Bulldogs visit Georgia on Tuesday night.
