AAMU to Face City Rival UAH on Friday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M women's basketball team will travel just six miles to take on city rival University of Alabama in Huntsville. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the Kelly Court in Spragins Hall on UAH's campus. Live streaming is available on Flo College.

The Bulldogs hit the road after earning their first home victory of the season after holding off the Kansas City Roos, 57-52 on Tuesday morning. Lauryn Pendleton recorded 15 points and two steals. Kourtney Rittenberry tallied 13 points and one block, while Jaiyah Harris led the team with three assists. Mailyn Wilkerson totaled 12 points on the night, going four of nine from beyond the arc. Alisha Wilson paced the Bulldog defense, grabbing 12 rebounds and one block.

The Chargers look to continue their home victory streak after defeating Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponent Tuskegee University, 71-59. The contest saw four Chargers in double figures, with freshman Mia Hollingsworth guiding the team with 15 points, all coming from beyond the arc, which earned her Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week. Lili Wilken posted 10 points, nine rebounds and a team-high four assists. Haley Nichols earned her first double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

AAMU won the last matchup with UAH, topping the Chargers 74-44 last season. Friday's game will be the first contest in an eight-game road series, and the first of two in-state opponents. The road stretch also consists of two tournaments, as AAMU will participate in the San Diego Thanksgiving Classic and the Tulane Holiday Tournament.
