THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team concludes its two-game road swing on Wednesday as the Bulldogs visit UAB. Tip-off against the Blazers is set for 6:30 p.m. from Bartow Arena and streamed on ESPN+.
Alabama A&M (4-6) is looking for its first road win of the season while also seeking to end a three-game losing streak. In addition, the Bulldogs will also be looking for their first-ever win over the Blazers.
Alabama A&M is averaging 78.0 points per game and shooting nearly 43 percent from the field.
Chad Moodie leads two Bulldog players in double figures at 13.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
AC Bryant is second on the team in scoring at 12.2 points and 3.7 boards.
Bryant is coming off his best performance of the season in the loss on Sunday to Chattanooga. He tallied career highs in points (19), field goals (7), field goals attempted (14), 3-pointers made (4), 3-pointers attempted (6) and steals (4).
UAB (5-6) is coming into the contest off an overtime loss on Saturday at home against Arkansas State.
Against Arkansas State, the Blazers led 53-28 at the break after shooting 47.22 percent from the floor and connecting on seven 3-pointers. However, in the second half, UAB struggled, shooting 37.5 percent and just 20 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
Yaxel Lendeborg and Tyren Moore each added 22 points , while JaBorri Mcghee and Efrem Johnson each chipped in 10 points in the home loss.
UAB is shooting 47.0 percent from the field and averaging 84.6 points per game.
Lendeborg paces three Blazer players in double figures by averaging a double-double of 17.6 points and 10.0 rebounds. McGhee is second at 10.9 points and Christian Coleman is averaging 10.7 points and 7.2 boards.
The matchup with the Bulldogs will be the second of three Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponents the Blazers will face. UAB defeated Prairie View A&M, 95-66, on Dec. 6 and will play host to Alcorn State on Sunday.
Alabama A&M returns home on Saturday for its Toys for Tots game as the Bulldogs face Samford. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. at the AAMU Event Center and streamed on Bulldogs All-Access. In addition, there is free admission to the game and a teddy bear toss at halftime.
