HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University women's basketball team, riding a five-game winning streak, enters its final home stretch with a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) games, starting on Thursday at the AAMU Event Center.
The Bulldogs play host to Grambling State on Thursday during Western/Country Night with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. Alabama A&M concludes the regular season at 2 p.m. on Saturday with Senior Day as Southern comes to town.
Alabama A&M (15-13 overall, 9-6 SWAC) completed a season sweep of rival Alabama State on Saturday, moving its home record to 10-2 this season. Grambling State (19-8, 13-3), on the heels of an eight-game winning streak, can lock in the second seed to next week's SWAC Women's Basketball Tournament with a win or an Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Southern (13-14, 11-5) currently sit in a tie for fourth in the SWAC standings and comes into the weekend game riding a two-game winning streak.

Darian Burgin led three Alabama A&M players in double figures with 13 points as the Bulldogs could not recover from a big second quarter in a 69-52 loss to Grambling State at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
The Tigers used a 19-2 run during a six-minute stretch of the second period and did not look back.
Kaylah Turner and
Victoria Dixon recorded 10 points each, while
Alisha Wilson grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.

Kaylah Turner poured in a game-high 20 points as the Bulldogs could not recover from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit in a 67-60 loss to Southern at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
Amiah Simmons posted 16 points and
Victoria Dixon chipped in 10 bench points.
Aleighyah Fontenot led Southern with 15 points and Taylor Williams tossed in 14 points. Genovea Johnson added 11 points, while Raven White chipped in 10.
