THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University football team concludes the season on Saturday with a trip to the Lone Star State as the Bulldogs visit Texas Southern in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) showdown. Kickoff against the Tigers is scheduled for 2 p.m. from Shell Energy Stadium.
Saturday's game marks the 20
th edition of the matchup since 2001 as Alabama A&M owns a 15-4 record in the series.
Alabama A&M (4-7 overall, 1-6 SWAC) nearly grabbed the home victory last weekend, but the Bulldogs could not rally in the final two minutes as Florida A&M pulled out a 26-23 victory at Louis Crews Stadium. The Bulldogs had a balanced offense, rushing for 233 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run
Ryan Morrow, in the loss.
Texas Southern (4-5, 3-2 SWAC) enters off a come-from-behind thrilling 35-30 win at Southern last weekend. The Tigers trailed 21-7 midway through the second quarter and grabbed the lead for good after a 3-yard touchdown pass from KJ Cooper to Kordell Rodgers with 10:37 remaining in the final quarter.
