CHICAGO, Ill. | The Alabama A&M University women's bowling team completed their third tournament in as many weeks as the Bulldogs finished 5-8 and claimed eighth at the River Rand Bowl.
The Bulldogs competed over the weekend against No. 20 Wright State, No. 10 Maryville, Elmhurst, Lewis, Marian, No. 15 McKendree, Western Illinois, Carroll, Carthage, Indianapolis and Wisconsin-Whitewater.
On Friday, AAMU dropped a 1,014-902 decision to Wright State before knocking off Maryville, 858-828.The Bulldogs extended their win streak against Elmhurst, with a 903-768victory in the third match. However, Alabama A&M suffered a close loss against Lewis, 935-934, in their fourth matchup, and wrapped up play versus Marian with an 866-806 loss.
Saturday saw Alabama A&M get off to a slow start, falling, 1000-777 to McKendree. However, the Bulldogs reeled off victories over Western Illinois (906-849), Carroll (892-781) and Carthage (962-829). AAMU concluded its second day with an 870-844 loss to Indianapolis.
In bracket play on Sunday, Alabama A&M dropped matches to Wisconsin-Whitewater (4-0), Carroll (4-2) and Lewis (4-2) to finish eighth.
Rose Ugbinada finished 11
th overall with a 195.6 average, while Michele Westmoreland was 18
th overall with a 180.2 average.
Nila Dulcio averaged a 179.8 to claim 20
th.
