Bulldogs to Host FAMU for Play4Kay, B-CU for Senior Day

THE HILL| In the final pair of home games, the Alabama A&M University (17-8, 10-3) women's basketball team will host Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman on Thursday and Sunday respectively. Thursday's Play4Kay contest is set to start at 6 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear Pink. Tip-off on Senior Day is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the game theme is a Black out. 

The Bulldogs return to Huntsville after picking up a pair of victories over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State. Kalia Walker paced the Bulldog offense in the 69-55 win over UAPB, picking up 21 points, including 8-of-9 from the foul line. Lauryn Pendleton added 16 points, six rebounds, and a team-high three steals. Aniya Palmer also picked up three steals, and Alisha Wilson led the defense with seven boards. For the 17th time this season, Jaiyah Harris-Smith led the team in assists, with seven.

Five Bulldogs finished in double figures in the 95-76 victory against MVSU, led by 20 points, nine rebounds and three steals from Wilson. Walker added 18 points, while Harris-Smith added 15, including a perfect 3-of-3 three from the three-point line. She also added three assists and three steals. Darian Burgin added 14 points and a team high four assists, while Pendleton contributed 10 points of her own.

Florida A&M comes to the AAMU Event Center for just the fourth time. The Rattlers look to get back into the winning column after dropping a pair of contest to both Alcorn State and Jackson State. Sydney Hendrix led FAMU in both contest, averaging 17 points and 8.5 rebounds over the weekend. AAMU and FAMU meet for the eighth time. The last time on the hardwood, the Bulldogs claimed the contest 58-54 in Tallahassee earlier this month. 

Bethune-Cookman hits the road after going 1-1 last weekend, dropping a 59-53 decision to Jackson State before claiming a 65-52 victory over Alcorn State. Asianae Nicholson and Kayla Clark paced the Wildcats over the weekend. Nicholson averaged 13 points and 11.5 rebounds while Clark averaged 12.5 points and 10 points. B-CU and AAMU last met earlier this month, where the Bulldogs claimed the 66-49 victory in Daytona Beach.
