Bulldogs Gear Up for Final Two Home Games

THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team, riding a two-game winning streak, will close out its home campaign this weekend as the Bulldogs welcome Bethune-Cookman on Saturday and Florida A&M on Monday in a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) games at the AAMU Event Center.
 
Saturday's game versus Bethune-Cookman is scheduled for 4 p.m., while Monday's contest against Florida A&M is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. as both games will be streamed on Bulldogs All-Access.
 
With five games remaining in the regular season, the Bulldogs currently sit ninth in the SWAC standings.
 
Alabama A&M (9-17 overall, 5-8 SWAC) ended a nine-game road losing streak last week with a victory over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday and closed out the conference weekend with a win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
 
AC Bryant had his second 30-point game of the season and Chad Moodie recorded a double-double in AAMU's victory over UAPB.
 
Alabama A&M is averaging 76.2 points per game and shooting 41.2 percent from the field. 
 
The Bulldogs rank third nationally in offensive rebounds per game, fifth in turnovers forced per game and 11th in bench points.
 
Bryant paces the Bulldog offense at 14.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists per game, while Moodie is averaging 11.4 points, 6.0 boards, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 assists per contest.
 
Bethune-Cookman comes into the game on a two-game losing streak after falling to Alcorn State and Jackson State last week.
 
The Wildcats are seeking the season sweep of Alabama A&M after knocking off the Bulldogs, 89-75, on Feb. 3.
  
Brayon Freeman leads three Wildcat players in double figures at 16.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Trey Thomas is right behind him at 16.2 points, 3.7 boards, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals. Daniel Rouzan is averaging 11.7 points and 5.3 boards.
 
Bethune-Cookman is shooting 43.0 percent from the floor and averaging 68.6 points per game.
 
Florida A&M will travel to Alabama State on Saturday, before visiting the AAMU Event Center on Monday.
 
After this weekend's games, Alabama A&M will return to the road for its final three regular season games, visiting Alabama State (March 1), Grambling State (March 6) and Southern (March 8).
