SAN ANTONIO | Thai Floyd, the Alabama A&M University Digital Media Sports Reporter and graduate assistant, will be the play-by-play announcer for the inaugural Women's HBCU All-Star game, the game staff announced Thursday. AAMU women's basketball athletes Lauryn Pendleton and Alisha Wilson will compete in the first edition of the game, to be held April 6th in San Antonio, Texas.
The historic event, set to showcase top talent from HBCUs across the nation, will mark a significant milestone in women's sports and serve as a platform for young athletes to shine on the national stage.
Floyd, who brings a wealth of experience in sports journalism, has been featured on NBC Sports Philadelphia, HBCU Legends on Sports Illustrated, and ESPN's Andscape. Over the course of her career, Floyd has served as a sideline reporter and play-by-play commentator for more than 60 games on ESPN+ and ESPNU, further solidifying her expertise and versatility in the field.
Floyd has also covered major events such as the Celebration Bowl, Cheez-It Bowl, and Pop-Tarts Bowl as a digital reporter. Floyd has also been the in-game host for the Florida Classic and served as a sideline reporter for the Black College Hall of Fame Game, enhancing her reputation as a prominent voice in HBCU sports.
A proud two-time HBCU graduate, Floyd earned her B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and is currently pursuing her master's degree at Alabama A&M University.

The HBCU Women's All-Star Game will take place on April 6 at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio. The game is set to tip off at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on NBC Sports Now and Peacock.
