THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University football program made another step toward opening the 2025 season on Thursday morning as the Bulldogs opened Day 1 of Fall Camp inside Louis Crews Stadium.
The Bulldogs were in helmets and shorts during a very hot morning for their first practice, building up toward the first session in full pads next week. Less than one month separates Alabama A&M from its season opener at Southeastern Conference (SEC) foe Arkansas on Aug. 30, and the home opener brings Alcorn State to the Rocket City for the 15
th Annual Louis Crews Classic a week later (Sept. 6).
"We wanted to come out (to today's first practice) and start fast," Alabama A&M head coach
Sam Shade said. "That sets the tone, and we want a team that will start fast and finish.
"We are always looking for competition and build competition. The more competition we are going to get, the better we are going to be. I like the competition we were in this morning, even though we were in helmets. In t-shirts and shorts, sometimes you can't go as hard as you want to go. We've got two days of this before we put the pads on. Then I think the competition level will heat up a bit more."
Shade welcomes back veteran quarterback
Cornelious Brown IV, who threw for 1,666 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. On the defensive side, linebacker
Dimitris Biamby will add valuable leadership as he accounted for 42 tackles and 18 solo stops a year ago.
