HUMBLE, Texas | Michele Westmoreland averaged a 196.7 pinfall through 14 matches to pace the Alabama A&M University women's bowling team at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Regional at the AMF Diamond Lanes.
Westmoreland was the lone Bulldog to finish inside the Top 5, as she recorded 2,754 total pinfall to finish second as Jackson State's Paige Hubert finished as the leader with 2,927 total pinfall.
Rose Ugbinada was ninth (182.1), while
Nila Dulcio placed 12
th (175.9).
Alexis Orchard and
Samantha Mason was 22
nd and 38
th, respectively.
Alabama A&M completed the weekend 6-8 and finished seventh as Jackson State won the SWAC West Regional, boasting a 12-2 mark. Alabama State (9-5) was tied for second with Texas Southern (9-5). Southern went 8-6 to claim the fourth spot, while Prairie View A&M (6-8) placed fifth and Grambling State rounded out the eight-team field with an 0-14 record.
The Bulldogs, who went 1-3 on the final day, opened Sunday's round with an 829-786 loss to Florida A&M, and followed that with a 913-766 loss to Southern. AAMU picked up a 949-871 win over Prairie View A&M, before ending the day with a 935-867 loss to Jackson State.
