BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University women's bowler Michele Westmoreland was selected the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Bowling Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
 
Westmoreland was the lone Bulldog to finish inside the Top 5, recording a 2,754 total pinfall to finish second at the SWAC West Regional. She rolled 200 or more in six matches, including a season-high 244 against Jackson State.
 
JSU's Paige Hubert was named the SWAC Bowler of the Week.
 
Alabama A&M returns to action Feb. 6-8 as the Bulldogs will host the SWAC East Regional at Pin Palace Lanes.
