Jaida Belton was selected the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Impact Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Belton helped Alabama A&M to a 1-1 mark in conference play. She averaged a double-double of 11.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.1 percent (8-of-17) from the floor. Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Belton recorded a double-double of 17 rebounds and 13 points in the road victory. The 17 boards were just one shy of matching her career mark of 18.
Grambling State's Shaniah Nunn was named the SWAC Player of the Week, while Mississippi Valley State's Ariel Jefferson earned Newcomer of the Week honors.
Alabama A&M returns to action on Thursday when the Bulldogs play host to Jackson State. Tip-off against the Tigers is scheduled for 6 p.m. from the AAMU Event Center and streamed on SWAC TV.
