Alabama A&M Doubleheader at Alabama State to Air on HBCU GO

LOS ANGELES, Calif. | The Alabama A&M University men's and women's basketball programs will receive national exposure as their Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) rivalry doubleheader at Alabama State on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2027, will be featured on HBCU GO, the league announced Wednesday.

The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will visit the Hornets and Lady Hornets in Montgomery, Alabama, as part of HBCU GO's 20-game SWAC basketball broadcast schedule, which begins Jan. 2 and concludes March 4.

The highly anticipated rivalry doubleheader features two programs that produced competitive matchups during the 2025-26 season.

On the men's side, Alabama A&M and Alabama State split their two regular-season meetings, with the Bulldogs claiming a four-point victory in the first matchup before the Hornets responded with a one-point win in the rematch.

The Alabama A&M women's basketball team swept the season series against Alabama State, winning both contests by a combined 17 points.

Tip-off for the doubleheader is set for 12 p.m. from the Dunn-Oliver Acadome, with the women's game. The men are scheduled to follow at 2:30 p.m.

The February showdown will provide both Alabama A&M programs an opportunity to showcase their talent on a national platform while continuing one of the SWAC's traditional in-state rivalries.

"HBCU basketball is bigger than what happens on the court. These games bring together students, alumni and communities whose pride in their schools is multi-generational," said Byron Allen, founder, chairman and CEO of Allen Media Group. "HBCU GO is proud to give these schools a global platform -- while bringing fans closer to the competition, traditions and culture that make HBCU sports an event."

HBCU GO's basketball coverage will be available through television syndication in major markets nationwide, along with streaming options including Amazon Prime Video, YouTube TV, The Roku Channel, Local Now, the HBCU GO mobile app and HBCUGO.tv.

Fans can visit HBCUGO.tv for additional broadcast information and viewing options.
