THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's basketball team returns home for a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) games as the Bulldogs look to secure some history during the homestand.
The Bulldogs have won 10 straight games, the longest such streak in program history since the 1996-97 season when AAMU won 11 consecutive contests. In order to break the mark, Alabama A&M will need to take care of business at home when the Bulldogs welcome Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday and Mississippi Valley State on Saturday to the AAMU Event Center.
Tip-off for Thursday's Play 4 Kay Breast Cancer Awareness game against the Golden Lions is set for 6 p.m., while Saturday's contest against the Devilettes – Love & Basketball/Greek Night – will begin at 2 p.m. Both games will be streamed on SWAC TV.
Alabama A&M has a one-game lead in the conference after picking up road wins over Grambling State and Southern last week. The Bulldogs will look to avenge their only SWAC loss of the season on Saturday against MVSU.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff, winners of three straight, will look to end AAMU's winning streak on Thursday. The Golden Lions, 4-9 away from home this season, come into the contest off a 64-60 home win over Alcorn State on Saturday.
Mississippi Valley State, which is 1-11 away from home this season, will visit Alabama State on Thursday before coming to Huntsville on Saturday. The Devilettes are currently riding a four-game losing streak and have not won a game since Jan. 17 when MVSU knocked off Bethune-Cookman, 64-55, at home.
