THE HILL | Alabama A&M University Athletics Digital Media Specialist Thai Floyd has been named Best Broadcaster at the 2026 HBCU Sports Awards.
 
Floyd received the honor during the awards program on Saturday. The HBCU Sports Awards recognized outstanding student-athletes, coaches, administrators, athletic programs and contributors across 46 categories throughout the HBCU sports landscape.
 
A seasoned multimedia sports journalist, Floyd has covered high school, collegiate and professional athletics. Her work has appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia, HBCU Legends on Sports Illustrated and ESPN's Andscape.
 
Floyd has served as a sideline reporter, analyst and play-by-play commentator for more than 60 games televised on ESPN+ and ESPNU. She has also provided radio play-by-play coverage for Alabama A&M football on WJAB 90.9 FM.
 
Among Floyd's career highlights are serving as the play-by-play announcer for the inaugural Women's HBCU All-Star Game, an in-game host for the Florida Classic and a sideline reporter for the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic. She has also covered the Celebration Bowl, Cheez-It Bowl and Pop-Tarts Bowl as a digital reporter.
 
The HBCU Sports Awards were established to highlight athletic excellence and recognize individuals whose behind-the-scenes contributions help elevate HBCU athletics.
