THE HILL | Alabama A&M Athletics welcomed Bulldog Nation to Louis Crews Stadium on Friday night for its annual Fan Day and Maroon and White football scrimmage, giving supporters an opportunity to connect with student-athletes and preview the upcoming fall seasons.
 
The festivities began with an autograph session featuring the football, volleyball, women's soccer and men's and women's cross country teams, before being introduced prior to the football team warming up for the Maroon & White scrimmage.
 
The evening concluded with the Maroon and White scrimmage as the Bulldogs continued preparations for their second season under head coach Sam Shade.
 
The controlled scrimmage provided Alabama A&M with valuable work in all three phases of the game. The Bulldogs focused on execution, communication and situational football while allowing the coaching staff to evaluate personnel throughout the roster.
 
Both sides of the football produced encouraging moments. The offense displayed its playmaking ability through the running and passing games, while the defense played with energy, pressured the backfield and forced the offense to earn every yard.
 
"We wanted to come out, compete and continue building toward the start of the season," Shade said. "There were some good things on both sides of the ball, but we also saw areas that we need to clean up. The most important thing is that our players competed, and we were able to put them in different game situations."
 
Shade also expressed his appreciation for the Alabama A&M supporters who attended the event.
 
"It was great to see Bulldog Nation come out and support our players," Shade said. "Our fans bring a tremendous amount of energy, and we are looking forward to representing them this season."
 
The scrimmage served as another important evaluation opportunity for the Bulldogs as the coaching staff continues to establish the depth chart and prepare for the season opener.

Fall Schedule
The Bulldogs open the 2026 season on the national stage with the 2026 Cricket Wireless MEAC/SWAC Challenge against Howard at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. on Saturday, Aug. 29. The first home game is a week later (Sept. 5) as Alabama A&M plays host to Miles College in the 16^th Annual Louis Crews Classic.
 
Classic Games
Alabama A&M will play in five signature games this season, starting with the MEAC/SWAC Challenge on Aug. 29 against Howard. A week later, the Maroon & White will play host to Miles College in the 16^th Annual Louis Crews Classic. The Bulldogs will look to make it two straight in The Legacy Series when AAMU host Tennessee State on Sept. 12. Alabama A&M faces Jackson State in the Gulf Coast Challenge on Oct. 3 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. and conclude the classic games with the 84th Annual Magic City Classic on Oct. 31 at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.
