AUGUSTA, Ga. | Amad Gardner fired a 3-under-par final round to finish tied for eighth individually as the Alabama A&M University men's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at the Augusta Jaguar Fall Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.

Alabama A&M finished eighth in the 10-team field with a three-round total of 26-over par. The Bulldogs posted rounds of 14-over and 1-over on Monday before closing the tournament with an 11-over final round Tuesday.

"I thought we showed some really positive signs this week, especially with the way our guys responded and competed throughout all three rounds," Alabama A&M head coach
Devins Jackson said. "Amad put together two outstanding rounds to finish the tournament, and we had several guys show that they can compete at this level. There are certainly areas where we need to improve, but this gives us a good starting point. We have some time before our next tournament, so we'll get back to work, clean up some things and continue building toward where we want to be as a team."

Gardner highlighted the tournament for Alabama A&M, finishing in a tie for eighth at 3-under par. After opening with a 3-over round, Gardner responded with back-to-back rounds of 3-under to surge up the individual leaderboard.

Samuel Boddie was the Bulldogs' next-highest finisher, tying for 28th at 5-over. Boddie opened the tournament with a 1-under round before shooting even par in the second round and 6-over in Tuesday's finale.

Griffin Burns tied for 50th at 11-over after rounds of 9-over, 1-under and 3-over.

Michael Song and
James Fujita each tied for 63rd at 19-over. Song carded rounds of 3-over, 10-over and 6-over, while Fujita posted rounds of 9-over, 5-over and 5-over.

Kourey Patterson competed as an individual for Alabama A&M and tied for 50th at 11-over. Patterson recorded rounds of 9-over, even par and 2-over.

Host Augusta captured the team championship at 23-under par, finishing 11 strokes ahead of runner-up High Point at 12-under. Belmont placed third at 5-under, followed by Western Carolina at 4-over. Georgia State and Francis Marion tied for fifth at 16-over, while West Georgia finished seventh at 17-over.

Augusta's Chapman Barnett, competing as an individual, and Pieter Rossouw shared medalist honors at 9-under par. High Point's Jace Duckworth finished third at 7-under.
