Biography

2022-23 (SENIOR): 
Hicks led the Bulldogs in scoring at 13.1 points per contest as a senior, along with grabbing 3.9 rebounds, dishing out 1.7 assists and earning 1.7 steals in 32 minutes of play ... The guard put up double figures in 21 games, including the first 14 of the year. He also recorded five 20-point efforts, leading with a season-high 23 points against Mississippi Valley State (Jan. 4) ... Hicks ranked fifth in steals per game, sixth in three-pointers made per game (2.1), ninth in the SWAC in scoring, while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from three.

2021-22 (JUNIOR): 

Hicks anchored an Alabama A&M program that reached the SWAC Tournament semifinals in 2021-22, a season that saw him average 14.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.0 assists while playing 999 minutes ... He also shot .357 from three-point range to rank as one of the top performers in that category in the league ... On the season he delivered double-digit scoring efforts in 22 of his 28 games (all starts) along with nine games with at least three three-pointers ... One of his top performances on the season came at Southern (2/5) when he dropped a season-high 25 points while logging 39 minutes ... Hicks was also invited to the NBPA Top 50 Camp.

2020-21 (SOPHOMORE): 

A dangerous shooter and threat to pull it down and take it to the rim, Hicks was a dual threat for SWAC opponents in 2020-21, finishing with averages of 13.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals, all while knocking down 26 three-pointers at a 31-percent clip ... His 15 games and starts would see him compile 10 double-digit scoring games, including a career-game against Southern (1/23) ... In that one he dropped a personal best 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field, 7-of-11 of that from beyond the arc ... Those seven threes equaled his career-high from three-point range that he set on his way to 23 points against South Alabama (12/19) in the second game of the season ... Hicks would also add 16 points and six rebounds in a near upset of eventual SWAC Regular Season Champion Prairie View A&M ... A constant threat for opposing defenses, one of his best abilities was his availability as he rarely left the court, playing at least 33 minutes in 12 of his 15 games, including a career-high 47 in a 93-90 double-overtime victory over South Alabama.

2019-20 (FRESHMAN): 

Played in all 30 games on the season, starting 29 … Finished the season as the Bulldogs’ second leading scorer, averaging 11.6 per game … Averaged 2.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and a steal in 30 minutes per game, scoring in double figures in 17 games for the Bulldogs … Finished top 20 in the SWAC in scoring, ranked eighth in three-point field goals made with 1.6 per game …  Also finished 10th in the league in minutes and top 25 in steals per game … Recorded his first double-digit scoring game with 12 points in the second game of the season at UAB (Nov. 11) … Led the Bulldogs in scoring in seven contests throughout the year, including three of the last four games __ 18 at Prairie View, 23 versus Grambling and 15 in the final home game against Jackson State … Recorded season-highs in points and three-pointers made with 23 points on five threes made against Grambling (Mar. 5) … Had a season-high eight rebounds along with 15 points against Alcorn (Feb. 22).


HIGH SCHOOL: 
Third Team All-State selection as a senior by the Alabama Sports Writers Association for Class 7A James Clemens High School in Madison, Alabama for the 2018-19 season … Rated No. 21 in Alabama by Hoopseen ... Averaged 17.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals ... Second team All Huntsville 2019 … Averaged 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists per game and 2.1 steals per game as a junior … Helped James Clemens reach the Class 7A Northwest Regional semifinals in the Alabama High School Athletic Association postseason … Second Team ASWA Class 7A All-State selection and 3rd team All Huntsville selection as a junior in 2018 … A three-year starter, who scored over 1,000 points in his career.
