Angelique Francis begins her first season as a Graduate Assistant on the Alabama A&M University women's basketball coaching staff.

Francis comes to Alabama A&M after spending the 2023-24 season as the Director of Player Personnel at Arkansas-Pine Bluff under head coach Dawn Thornton.

She began her coaching career at UAPB after a four-year career as a student-athlete at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (now called Little Rock) and a year professional basketball in Melbourne, Australia.

While at Little Rock, she played in 108 games, averaging 24.3 minutes per game and also received the Pat Summit Courageous Heart Award in 2023. In addition, she helped the Trojans to a 2023 Ohio Valley Conference championship and was nationally recognized as a member of the top defensive team. She was selected the Team MVP during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons. Francis also was named the 2021-2022 Little Rock Female Student-Athlete of the Year and was a two-time selection to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll (2020-2021 and 2021-2022). In addition Francis received an Applied Communication and Sports Management Internship during the 2021-2022 season, as she created and produced videos to promote both the men's and women's basketball programs and the women's volleyball team.
 
She earned her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary studies. Francis is a prominent advocate for mental health awareness in college athletics. She spoke at the capital three years in a row about mental health for RAAD. She also has experience in entrepreneurship and golf. Francis owns the ALF organization that advocates mental health, and suicide prevention, and 20% of donations go to different organizations around the community. 

Francis attended MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, where she was a four-year letterman in golf, three-year letterman in women's basketball and a two-year letterman in track & field. On the golf course, she was named Team MVP and was a three-time district champion. On the hardwood, she was selected to the 6-6A All-District First Team, Team Most Outstanding Player and a Texas Girls Coaches Association Legacy All-Star. In addition, she was named the 2019 Miss MacArthur. 

A native to Dallas, but born in San Antonio, Francis enjoys golfing and educating people on the prominence of mental health and the importance of mental health awareness in all young adults using her many forms of outreach, such as her podcast in her free time.
