Maycor Carrion serves as an Assistant Coach and Technical Coordinator for the Alabama A&M University volleyball program, bringing a strong background in collegiate volleyball, player development, and technical analysis to The Hill.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Carrion began his volleyball career with Elite Volleyball Club in Los Frailes, where he competed in numerous regional and national tournaments before continuing his playing career in the United States.
Carrion competed collegiately at Trinity Christian College and Oakland City University. During his playing career, he helped Trinity Christian advance to the 2024 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Quarterfinals before helping Oakland City qualify for the 2025 NCCAA National Championship. His commitment extended beyond the court, earning recognition as an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
Carrion began his coaching career in 2023 as a Student Assistant Coach with the Trinity Christian College women’s volleyball program, assisting with the team’s training and development while helping the Trolls reach the CCAC postseason.
In 2025, Carrion joined the Oakland City University women’s volleyball program as a Student Assistant Coach. During his time with the Mighty Oaks, the program advanced to the 2025 NCCAA Regional Tournament.
Carrion has also gained additional coaching and player-development experience through his work with Heat Volleyball Academy in Laredo, Texas, assisting with practices, training sessions, and summer camps.
At Alabama A&M, Carrion serves as an Assistant Coach and Technical Coordinator while working primarily with the Bulldogs’ defensive specialists and liberos. He oversees several areas of the program’s technical operations, including practice and match video, statistical analysis, scouting, and performance technology. His responsibilities include working with platforms such as Hudl, Volleymetrics, Balltime, and Catapult to provide data and video analysis that support player development, opponent preparation, and in-match strategy.
Carrion brings an international playing background, collegiate coaching experience, and a detail-oriented approach to Alabama A&M as the Bulldogs continue building a championship-level program on The Hill.
