Trey Johnson begins his first season as a graduate assistant with the Alabama A&M University men’s basketball program.
Johnson comes to The Hill after serving as a women’s basketball scout team/volunteer at the University of Alabama from September 2021- April 2024. During the 2023 season, Johnson also served as an athletic intern within the University of Alabama Department of Athletics.
Johnson, who is an Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) basketball official, served the Crimson Tide in the capacity of FANgineer for the football and gymnastics programs and was a floor captain on the Southside Champions Club.
Johnson, who played collegiate basketball at Rust College (2019-20) and Coastal Alabama (2020-21), worked at the University of Alabama Recreation Center as an operations associate in 2022, where he provided guest services and basic facility maintenance. In addition, he offered health and wellness advice and enforced fitness center rules.
A member of the 2015-16 Dean’s List/Academic Honor Roll, Johnson was a team co-captain and academic letterman with the boy’s varsity basketball team at Spain Park High School. Also, he served as a 2017 SGA Class representative.
