Box Score / Southern's Starr Hines scored the game-winning goal with :53 remaining in double overtime to defeat Alabama A&M 2-1 at Bulldog Field. Brittany Joseph gave A&M an early lead on the Bulldogs' first shot of the game, 1-0. It was a lead the hosts held until the 69th minute when the Tigers tied the game on a corner kick header. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 1-13 on the season. The Jaguars improve to 2-13 on the year. A&M will host Jackson State on Sun. Oct. 25 for its senior day. The game is slated for a 3 p.m. start.
The Bulldogs took 11 shots, including six on goal. Goalie Rolandrea Russell played the whole game and made six saves on the day. Along with Joseph, Lian Pino, Adrianne Wiggins, Christina Igono, and LeTisha Davis all recorded shots.
