Women’s soccer set to begin SWAC competition

Normal- The Alabama A&M women’s soccer team has had a two week break from competition but now are set to enter SWAC play.

On Friday, October 5th, the Lady Bulldogs will travel south to take on in state rival the Lady Hornets of Alabama State University at 3:00 p.m.

Last season’s clash between the two schools was pivotal.  The meeting was the last regular season SWAC Eastern Division match for both programs. Based on team records that game became The Decision match; deciding the final spot into the post-season tournament.

The magnitude and importance of the game led to an intense battle between the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Hornets. ASU won The Decision by a lone goal, scored with six minutes left in the contest. It was a tough loss for the Maroon and White, as they knew it meant the end of the 2011 season.

With this loss still fresh in the Lady Bulldogs minds, they will head into Montgomery with vengeance. The Maroon and White will not only try to avenge their loss in The Decision but they will also seek their first win of the 2012 campaign.
