A&M Volleyball Takes Round Two Over Alabama State

Montgomery –The Lady Bulldogs travel down south and defeated their arch rival the Alabama State Lady Hornets three games to one, in their final regular season finile Tuesday evening.

The Lady Bulldog’s Clairissa Moore and Mariah Brown each led in double figure kills with 21 and 11 respectfully. Moore totaled 39 attacks and accomplished a blistering hitting percentage of .538.

Senior Mary Carman-Aponte finished with a team high 18 digs. The Maroon & White’s lone setter, Ashley Forman, finished with 47 assists.

Alabama State falls to a 7-24 on the year. The Lady Hornets were led by Chelsey Scott who had a team high 20 kills.
Head coach Nedra Brown and her sixth squad on “The Hill” will have seven days to prepare for another SWAC title run.

A&M’s four regular season defeats, in the conference, in the last two years came by Jackson State who won their first championship over AAMU in last year’s title game.
Unfortunately the SWAC post season tournament will take place in Jackson Miss., running from Nov.15^th through the 18^th.
