A&M Volleyball to host cross town rival

NORMAL – The Alabama A&M volleyball team will host cross town rival the University of Alabama at Huntsville to a 7 p.m. contest on Tuesday, September 11 in Elmore Gymnasium in their 2012 home opener.

The Bulldogs (0-11) are led offensively by senior Clairissa Moore who has posted 94 kills in nine games. Junior Ashley Forman has collected 259 assists averaging 7.59 per game and paces the Maroon & White defensively with 85 digs. Junior Leslie Ekpe leads the team with 22 blocks.
 
Historically, the Lady Chargers own a 14-7 advantage over the Lady Bulldogs in the all-time series, including victories in nine of the last 10 meetings. Alabama A&M claimed the most recent contest between the two schools in 2011, 3-2.
 
A&M was down to the Lady Charges two sets to none, but rallied to take the third and fourth set to send the match into the deciding fifth game that the Lady Bulldogs eventually won.
