Box Score Normal- The Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs were shutout in a three-nil contest by the Lady Jaguars of Southern University.
A&M started the game off lacking energy. The Lady Jaguars from Southern University came out the gate with their foot on the pedal and dominated early. The Maroon & White failed to assert themselves offensively, and fell behind in the 19th minute. SU's Jami Blackston received a through pass that beat the A&M defense, and slipped a shot by Marissa Oehler into the back of the net.
After going down 1-0, the home team picked up their play slightly. Despite the increase effort, the Maroon & White saw a second ball find the back of their net with 14-minutes remaining in the half. The Lady Bulldogs would take a 2-0 deficit into the break.
In the second period, A&M played with an increased aggression, and with purpose. They began to dominate the possession and control the flow of the game. After having the ball in the attacking third numerous times and creating multiple scoring opportunities, the Lady Bulldogs found themselves marching to the center circle again to kick off. SU scored a third goal in the 51st minute to increase their lead to three.
The Maroon & White eventually succumbed to a 3-0 loss after the final seconds ticked off the clock. A&M recorded 23 shots with 15 striking within the goal frame of SU' keeper Kerinn Hall. Goalkeeper Marissa Oehler tallied nine saves on 15 shots faced in defeat.
