Bulldogs indoor runners close regular indoor season at Samford Multi and Invitational

Normal- The Alabama A&M Bulldog runners closed the regular indoor track season by competing in the Samford University Multi and Invitational. The Samford hosted event took place at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama this past weekend.

This was the last meet for the Maroon & White before the pinnacle of their season arrives with the 2013 Southwestern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championship will take place on February 16 - 17 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Cydnecia Wade finished 21^st in the 200-meter dash (25.41), beating out 48 other runners. Wade completed one of the standout Bulldog performances of the meet. Senior Shaquina Phalo followed this performance with her own 26^th place finish in the women’s 800-meter run (2:19.19) topping 37 competitors.

For the men, Galvin Burks placed 25th in the men’s weight throw with a distance of 11.86 just off his season high of 11.93 throw recorded in a previous meet.

The teams will now prepare for their final meet of the season, the 2013 SWAC Championships. In less than two weeks, the teams will return to the Magic City, and the Birmingham CrossPlex to fight for the indoor crown. The Championships will begin February 16^th and conclude on the 17^th
