Track shows improvement at TSU Invitational

Normal- The Alabama A&M indoor track squads braved the early morning snowy weather to compete in the Tennessee State University Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
 
The Bulldogs combined for 24 top 20 finishes across multiple events, including five top 10 finishes and five top five finishes.
 
The Lady Bulldogs posted their only top five finish by way of Cydnecia Wade in the 200-meter dash. Wade took third place with a time of 25.85, just .65 seconds off first place.
 
For the Maroon & White men, their first top five finish came during the long jump. Dexter Sanford placed third with a distance of 6.35 meters, out jumping eight of his competitors. The next came from Marion Malone who placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 11.75 meters. Galvin Burks tied the highest finish for the men’s team, placing third in the weight throw with an attempt of 11.56 meters.
 
The last top five finish for the A&M in the Music City came by way of the men’s 4x400 meter relay team. The team of Dexter Sanford, Dwight Tigner, Demetrius Peacock, and Marion Malone placed fourth with a time of 3.33.77.
 
The racing Bulldogs will be back in action on February 8th and 9th at the Samford Invitational. This will be the final meet before both squads wrap up the indoor season at the SWAC tournament on February 16th and 17th in Birmingham, Ala.
