Lady Bulldogs drop 8-0 Match to MTSU Blue Raiders

Murfreesboro, Tenn. - Under the stadium lights and drizzling skies in Tennessee, the Lady Bulldogs fell 8-0 to the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, dropping to 0-9-0 on the season. 
 
In the ninth-series meeting between Middle Tennessee State and Alabama A&M women's soccer programs, the Maroon & White could not come out with a victory.  The series record fell to 0-9 for the Lady Bulldogs with this defeat.
 
Both teams had high energies in anticipation for the starting whistle. Despite displaying high energy and obvious excitement for tonight's contest, A&M was dominated by MTSU. The Blue Raiders had the Lady Bulldogs on their heels early, scoring their first goal at the 42:11 minute mark.  
 
By the end of the first 45, the Maroon & White found themselves trailing 7-nil.  With three coming in the first 17 minutes and the others dispersed throughout the half.  On the defensive end, A&M drew three TSU off sides while keeper Marissa Oehler tallied seven saves in the first period.  
 
The second half started slightly rough for the Lady Bulldogs as they let in their eighth goal after 5 minutes of play. Things calmed down and A&M began to increase their possession along with control of the match.  
 
In the last 45, the Maroon & White held their host to 16 shots, with seven on goal and one finding the back of the net; Oehler upped her save total to 14 adding seven second half saves. Offensively three Lady Bulldogs recorded shots with two within the MTSU goal frame.
 
The Maroon & White now travel to Clemson, SC for their next match on Sunday, September 22, at 1:00 p.m.
