NORMAL - Savanna Blackiston's team high of nine kills helped Alabama A&M sweep Alcorn State three games to none (25-7, 25-18, 25-11) Saturday night in Alcorn, Miss.
Ashley Forman and Rebecca Cortez split the setting duties for A&M, as Forman tallied 11 and Cortez a career high of 10 dimes.
Forman led the Lady Bulldogs in the defense department with eight digs, along with two blocks. Cortez followed suit with seven digs.
In game one, the Lady Bulldogs had a blistering .667 hitting percentage with 11 kills only committing one error. As a team, the Maroon and White out hit Alcorn State 33 to 12 in the kills department. A&M forced Alcorn State to 11 receiving errors.
The Lady Bulldogs will have a long break before facing the defending SWAC Champion Jackson State on October 10. First volley is set for 7 p.m.
