Bulldogs' final scrimmage of fall set for Saturday

NORMAL -- Saturday is a day of reckoning for several Alabama A&M football players.

The Bulldogs will hold their final scrimmage of the season and it could determine players' positions on the depth chart.

The biggest question mark going into the season was quarterback but De'Angelo Ballard has impressed Head Coach James Spady in the previous scrimmages and is the likely No. 1.

However, it's a tight battle for the No. 2 spot.

Defensive coordinator Reggie Johnson's defense returns nearly everyone from last year but they will be more athletic, thanks to workouts with new strength and conditioning coach Karl Jordan.

The line play is expected to be physical in the scrimmage with some spots still to be determined on both sides of the line.

The scrimmage is expected to start around 12:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

The Bulldogs open the 2015 campaign on the road at the University of Cincinnati on Sept. 5. Kickoff is 6 p.m. (central time) and the game can be viewed on ESPN3.
