Women’s Basketball Falls at SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO.—Freshman Jameica Cobb led Alabama A&M University women's basketball team with 18 points but it was not enough as the Lady Bulldogs suffered a 75-47 loss to Southeast Missouri State on Monday afternoon in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
 
Ebony Johnson contributed eight points followed by Hilary Williams' seven points.  Williams' and Cobb led the Lady Bulldogs with five rebounds each.
 
Southeast Missouri State  was led by Hannah Noe's 21 points and Ashton Luttrull added 12 points.

The Redhawks opened the scoring with a 3-point field goal into the contest before Johnson's jumper put the Lady Bulldogs on the board. Tied 14-14 with 32 seconds remaining, Alisha Davis made a jumper to help the Lady Bulldogs take a 16-14 lead to close the first period.
 
Southeast Missouri State closed the second period with a 30-24 leading into the half. The Redhawks made four 3-point field goals in the first half while the Lady Bulldogs made two 3-point field goals.
 
Williams' opened the third period with two free throws, but the Redhawks responded with a 25-6 run for a 60-35 lead to close the third period. In the fourth period, the Lady Bulldogs tried to battle back, but Southeast Missouri State extended to lead to secure the 75-47 victory.
