Bulldogs pitchers dominate in win over Eastern Kentucky

RICHMOND, Ky. -- The Bulldogs relied on a pitching foursome and timely hits Wednesday to beat Eastern Kentucky 3-1. The win snapped a 12-game losing streak for A&M.

Tyler Chatman, Caleb Roberts, Josh Burchell and Brandon Marsonek combined on a five-hitter with Burchell picking up the win and Marsonek the save.

At the plate, Saige Benson and Boston Martinez-Neal each had two hits and a run batted in.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the first inning when Cole Thiede hit a one-out double to left and scored one out later on Benson's single to centerfield.

A&M ran the score to 2-0 after Ty Russell led off the second with a double and scored on Martinez-Neal's RBI single.

The Bulldogs made it 3-0 in the fourth inning. With two outs, Martinez-Neal singled and Eugene Freeman walked. J.T. O'Reel followed with a single to left center, driving in Martinez-Neal.

The Bulldogs host Mississippi Valley State this weekend in a key four-game SWAC series.
