MURRAY, Ky. --
Dylan Payne hit his team-leading fifth home run of the season but the Bulldogs fell at Murray State 11-3 in six innings.
The game was called due to severe weather in the area, including lightning and heavy rains.
Payne's home run came in the second inning with the Bulldogs trailing 5-0.
A&M picked up two more runs in the third inning to cut the Racers' lead to 5-3.
J.T. O'Reel led off with a single and advanced to second on
Carlton Peppers' sacrifice bunt. O'Reel then moved to third on a wild pitch and
Tanner Ivey was walked.
Nolan Ramsey followed with a single but made it all the way to third base on a Murray State error. O'Reel and Ivey scored on the play.
The Racers finished the scoring with a six-run sixth inning before the lightning and rain hit.
A&M will visit Jackson State this weekend for a three-game SWAC series. First pitch Friday is 6 p.m.
