Sanders clinches 10th home run of season in doubleheader loss to Samford

Birmingham, AL --- Tiana Sanders hit her 10th home run of the season in non-conference play Tuesday at Samford University in Birmingham, AL, but it wasn't enough to top Samford. The Lady Bulldogs fell 11-0 in game one, and 13-2 in game two.

The Lady Bulldogs were held scoreless for the first four innings in game two, but Sanders put two runs on the board for A&M at the top of the fifth inning when she homered to right field to drive in Viridiana Ramos.  Despite their efforts, Samford walked away with the 13-2 run-rule victory.

Game One Recap

The Lady Bulldogs were held hitless against Samford University in game one of the doubleheader Tuesday. Samford started the game with six runs in the top of the first inning to take a commanding lead. Although the Lady Bulldogs battled to get on the board, they came up short as Samford scored in all five-innings to seal the 11-0 victory.

Desiree Taylor and Jessica Alferos both registered a hit in the game for A&M with singles in the top of the fifth inning.

The Lady Bulldogs will wrap up regular season play this weekend as they host Alabama State University for a three-game series. The two teams will play a single game Friday at 3 p.m. and doubleheader Saturday at noon.
