Big inning carries UT-Martin past Bulldogs

MARTIN, Tenn. -- Tennessee-Martin exploded for seven runs in the first inning Tuesday en route to a 11-1 win over the Bulldogs.

The game started early to avoid approaching bad weather but still had a 65-minute delay because of lightning in the sixth inning.

A&M's lone run came on Cornelius Woods' double in the third inning to score Tanner Ivey.

Ivey and Ty Russell each singled twice for the Bulldogs.

The team will turn its attention now to next week's SWAC Baseball Tournament. The event begins May 18 in New Orleans. A&M faces Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
