Lady Bulldogs eliminate Prairie View

IRONDALE, Ala. -- Tiana Sanders, Brandi Foreman and Sierra Smith each left the yard Thursday as Alabama A&M beat Prairie View 4-2 and eliminate the Lady Panthers from the 2016 SWAC Softball Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs advanced to play Alcorn State but, due to weather, their game -- originally set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday -- was halted and will resume Friday at 11 a.m.

In Thursday's win, Sanders and Foreman went back-to-back in the fourth inning to break open a scoreless contest.

Sierra Smith led off the fifth inning with a solo shot for A&M and Imani Largin added a RBI single.

Prairie View scored two runs in the seventh for the final 4-2 score.

Rachel Sanders got the win for the Lady Bulldogs, allowing nine hits and two runs in 6 innings.
