Lady Bulldogs fall to The Citadel, weather

Box Score HUNTSVILLE -- The Citadel struck for two first-half goals and lightning struck four times as Alabama A&M fell 2-0 Friday.

The game was delayed three times in the first half - with barely 15 minutes played - and it was eventually called in the 80th minute due to lightning in the area.

The Lady Bulldogs of A&M - The Citadel is also the Lady Bulldogs - played a tenacious game, giving up just eight shots with five on goal. They matched the visitors with five shots each in the first half, with Lisa Torres' drive forcing The Citadel goalkeeper Logan Leask to make the save.

For A&M, Alexandra Desgagne had three saves while Estelle Esperance had three shots.

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Kennesaw State for a 1 p.m. (Eastern) match Sunday.
