AAMU Women's Basketball suffers first conference loss against Jackson State

HUNTSVILLE--- The Alabama A&M women's basketball team suffered their first conference loss of the season after a hard fought game against Jackson State with a final score of 64-54.
 
Jackson State took the lead early on in the game putting up 20 points in the first quarter. The Lady Bulldogs  allowed the Lady Tigers to shoot 55.6% from the field in the first half and the inefficiency on offense put A&M into a 19-36 hole to end the first half.

In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs came out dominating, holding the Lady Tigers scoreless from behind the arc as the Lady Bulldogs shot 33.3% from the three-point field goal. The Lady Bulldogs scored 24 points in the fourth quarter and cut Jackson State's 22 point lead to 10, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Tigers went on to take a 64-54 win.

Freshman Jameica Cobb and Senior Ebony Johnson led the team in scoring after putting up  17 points each. Junior Hilary Williams also contributed to the team scoring 12 points and adding three rebounds. Freshman Alisha Davis added six rebounds and Freshman Juliette Akinwole came off the bench with four rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs will have their next conference game at home Wednesday evening as they host Grambling State.
