HUNTSVILLE -- The Lady Bulldogs battled hard in a scoreless game for about 80 minutes Sunday against unbeaten Texas Southern.

But the Tigers applied pressure in the waning minutes and broke through for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over A&M.

The Lady Bulldogs fall to 0-4 in the SWAC while Texas Southern improves to 3-0-1.

Goalkeeper Jodi Medina was stellar once again coming up with four saves, including a point-blank shot by TSU's Paige Hayward at the 21:20 mark of the first half.

The Lady Bulldogs had a couple of missed opportunities in the second half. With about 12 minutes to play, Daijah DeRamus fought through a pair of defenders and the TSU keeper but her shot went just wide of the open net.

DeRamus and Alexus Lawson combined on a first-half rush but came up empty, as well.

A&M had another opportunity in the first half when Lawson was fouled at the top of the box but Iris Torres' direct kick went over the crossbar.

DeRamus had three shots, including one on goal while Ayanna Gooden and Julie Duran each also had a shot on goal.

A&M returns to action Tuesday when Talladega College visits Bulldog Field.
