NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Alisha Davis saved the best for last.

The sophomore from Decatur made just one basket in the entire game Saturday against Tennessee State but it was the game-winner in a 77-75 victory for the Lady Bulldogs.

A&M, posting back-to-back wins over Division I opponents for the first time since 2013, withstood a furious Tennessee State comeback attempt in Nashville.

The Lady Bulldogs, 2-1, led 73-59 with 4:49 left in the game when they went ice cold on offense and the Lady Tigers, 0-2, got hot.

Spurred by a 11-0 run, TSU tied the game at 75-75 with 24 seconds left, erasing the 14-point deficit.

After the tying basket, the Lady Bulldogs were working for the last shot when Lauren McKee found Davis for the layup.

After TSU called a timeout with one second left, Alexandra Johnson stole the ball to preserve the win.

Nigeria Jones scored 13 points and had a second-straight six-assist night. Ashlyn Dotson added 13 points and Tierra Dark scored eight points and had five assists.

TSU led 17-16 at the end of the first quarter but the Lady Bulldogs outscored TSU 30-11 in the second quarter to take a 46-28 lead into intermission.

A&M outrebounded the Lady Tigers 37-36 and hit 50 percent of their shots (30-for-60) from the field.

The Lady Bulldogs are home Tuesday to face Austin Peay. It's Elementary School Day and tipoff is 11 a.m.
