Bulldogs Fall on the Road at Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich.– The Alabama A&M men's basketball team dropped a non-conference match against Michigan on Thursday evening. The host Wolverines held off the Bulldogs, 97-47, in Crisler Arena.
 
Marcus Merriweather led the Bulldogs with 16 points and Andre Kennedy added 10 points. Julian Walters contributed with eight rebounds and four assists.

The taller Wolverines - with five players ranging from 6-foot-8 to 7-foot - outrebounded the Bulldogs 31-28. Michigan shot 60 percent (36-for-60) from the field compared to the Bulldogs 34.7 percent (17-for-49).

The Bulldogs hung tight with Michigan in the early going of the first half after Merriweather hit a three-pointer to cut Michigan's five-point lead to two. After a Wolverines jumper, Merriweather drained another three-pointer to bring Alabama A&M within one, 7-6, but that would be as close as the Bulldogs would get as Michigan extended their lead by as many as 28, 51-23, heading into halftime.  
 
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs travel to Washington, D.C. on Dec. 23 to face Georgetown in the final non-conference match of the season.
