McGregory hot at plate but Bulldogs fall to South Alabama

MOBILE -- Carson McGregory continues to swing a hot bat for the Bulldogs but it wasn't enough in a 11-1 loss Wednesday at South Alabama.

McGregory had a double and single and drove in A&M's lone run. He is hitting at a .444 clip this season.

McGregory's RBI came in the fourth inning when he doubled to drive in Carlton Peppers, who had a leadoff single.

Njike Hunter also had two hits for the Bulldogs (2-3).

The Bulldogs had 10 hits in the game while six A&M pitchers allowed 14 Jaguar hits.

A&M batters ran into some tough luck in the game. In three straight innings (sixth, seventh and eighth), the Bulldogs lined into double plays, erasing any chances of a big inning.

The Bulldogs will be on the road this weekend when they visit Savannah State for a four-game series Friday through Sunday.

The next home game is Feb. 28 when UNA visits Bulldogs Field. First pitch is 2 p.m.
