HUNTSVILLE --- The Alabama A&M women's basketball team suffered a 63-50 defeat by Prairie View A&M on Senior Night in T.M. Elmore Gym Saturday evening.

Josta Totten was the honoree of the night for the Lady Bulldogs.
The loss drops the Lady Bulldogs to 2-22 on the season, while Prairie View moved to 11-16 overall.
AAMU started off the first quarter hot offensively as they took an early 8-2 lead over PVAMU with 6:13 on the clock. The Panthers started to cut away at the Lady Bulldogs lead and eventually took an 11-10 with 56 seconds left in the first quarter. Prairie View would then go on a 5-0 run to gain a 16-10 lead at the end of the first.
The Panthers would domintate in the second quarter extending their lead to as many as 11. PVAMU would not allow the Lady Bulldogs to get closer than seven points before they headed into halftime.
Down 31-24 at the break,
Jameica Cobb opened up the third quarter with a driving layup. Prairie View, however, responded with a 10-2 run keyed by treys and layups to extend their lead to 13. Totten responded from behind-the-arc with 5:51 on the clock and
Ebony Johnson and
Hilary Williams would add a few layups and jumpers to cut the Panthers lead to eight.
Lauren McKee would add a jumper before PVAMU went on to close out the quarter with a 49-39 advantage.
Prairie View pushed its lead to 13 at 54-43 early in the fourth. Down 54-43 with 5:04 left, the Lady Bulldogs made things interesting with layup from Johnson and a free throw from
Alisha Davis. The two teams would continue to trade points before the Panthers secured the win. Â

Cobb and Davis led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points each, respectively. Johnson contributed 11 points and led the team with seven rebounds.
Juliette Akinwole grabbed six boards and Davis added five rebounds.
