SAVANNAH, GA -- Fernando Diaz Jr. and Carson McGregory each had a pair of hits Sunday but the Bulldogs lost to Savannah State 17-1 in the finale of their four-game series.
A&M's lone run came in the ninth inning and snapped a 16-inning scoreless streak over three games.
In the ninth, Carlton Peppers reached first on an error and moved to third on McGregory's single to right. Darius Smith grounded out to first, allowing Peppers to score.
For Diaz, it was his second multiple-hit game in four games - he doubled and tripled against Fort Wayne on Feb. 19.
McGregory has four two-hit games out of nine games this season. Sunday's single broke a two-game hitless streak after he started the season hitting safely in the first six games.
The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday with a home game against North Alabama. They will host Tennessee-Martin on Wednesday. First pitch for both games is 2 p.m.
