ITTA BENA, Miss. -- Brandon Marsonek became the first pitcher this season in NCAA baseball to surpass the 100-strikeout mark in a 1-0 win over Mississippi Valley State.

The game began Saturday and concluded Sunday morning after being suspended for weather. The Bulldogs are concluding the three-game series Sunday.

Marsonek struck out a school-record 11 batters in the complete game shutout. He now has 102 strikeouts this season - the most in the nation.

The lone run in the game came in the second inning after Carson McGregory led off with a walk. With one out, Zeth Malcom singled and McGregory advanced to second.

Darren Beachem followed with a single to drive home McGregory with the eventual game-winning run.

The Bulldogs are home Tuesday when Samford visits for a 3 p.m. game.
